What could be more random than me? Hmmm... The fact that I love peaches, I love my car, I love God, I love my mom, and I love adventure... (Disclosure:: Not Necessarily in THAT Order!)

I'm sitting at work, looking out over downtown Detroit... It's so dang beautiful here... The people mover is trolleying from stop to stop, picking up strangers upon strangers whom, may have never met before, or some, who may see each other fairly regularly on this "Downtown Trolley".

It's fun, ya know... to people watch... to watch people... I love the Riverwalk along the "Dee-troyt" River (as people pronounce it).

I keep writing "chapters" or passages to a book that I hope to finish one day... Of my life, my trials and tribulations, my search for answers, my quest for life, for love, for family...

RANDOM:  I hate it when people spelled DETROIT as DETRIOT... "OI" makes the "Oohy" or "Oeee" sound... "IO" makes the "Ii-ooo" sound... It is NOTTTTTTTTTTTTT spelled DETRIOT, it is spelled DETROIT...  If you cannot spell the name of your own city, only God can help you... cuz you are a moron.. yurp....

HERE'S MY RANDOM QUOTE OF THE DAY...

"It has come to my attention that technology has surpassed our humanity," Albert Einstein. I look forward to the day when humanity surpasses technology.

ON A SIDE NOTE::

I have several quotes that I have been posting to my FB page several times a week for the past 2 months... Below are some of them.

Marcia Rule #1:: Never open your heart to someone if they're not willing to fully give themselves to you...
Marcia Rule # 4:: Don't attempt to run "game" on me, because I will smash that BS quick and you will be lost... aww, poor baby.
Marcia Rule #5:: I didnt spend the last 4 years discovering myself, growing/maturing as an adult and finally learning to love myself just for you to break me...
Marcia Rule #6:: Don't even try to hide the truth from me, don't try and play the queen of game, I ALWAYS come out on top, and ALWAYS find out the truth... bet!
Marcias Rule #7:: if you call/text/FB/ask me EVERY DAY if you can see me... then I really have no use for you!
Marcia Rule #9:: I refuse to EVERRRR let a man bring me down again.... I am much better than you all... bet!
Marcia Rule #18:: I Hate Stupidity.
Marcia Rule #26:: Pissing me off and breaking my heart are two very different things, but with the latter i'd suggest looking over your shoulder for awhile...
Marcia Rule #38:: I ♥ Life. I Never Regret Anything. I Live Like I Won't Live Again. You Only Have One Body, Treat It Well: Live Strong, Love Hard, Fall Softly
Marcia Rule #91:: For every time someone tells you that you can't do something, multiply that by 20 and that's how many times you WILL do something and succeed!
Marcia Rule #189:: Stand For Pride, Be Proud of Love, Love Yourself. Be Who You're Meant To Be.
Marcia Rule #236:: Never tell your secrets no matter how much you may want to!
Marcia Rule #419:: Never settle for less than what is desired, or what is absolutely necessary. "Rims" and "old-school" chevies will only get you from one block to the next; an education, a family, and a career will take you everywhere between that rock and the moon, downtown to the country... be your own RockStar! ♥

Alright, so. Anyone who knows me, knows that I love to read.  I read out of necessity, out of love, out of desire, out of lust, and out of the pursuit of knowledge. Blah. Anyhow. Last summer I read 8 books between semesters.  This summer I'm planning on reading AT LEAST 8.  The one I have currently started, is titled: My Life On Mars... No, it’s really not about aliens or anything... here’s a snippet from the back...

"
An intimate portrait of a compelling family—and the magic of love found later in life

Eliza White, a successful children’s author who lives in Santa Fe, has always had a thriving fantasy life. Though able to create magical worlds in her books, her life has been clouded by memories of her cold, distant father and by nagging doubts about her equally remote and unfaithful husband, the father of her children, all of whom have recently flown the nest for college. When her widowed mother announces plans to sell the family house in Ohio and move to New Mexico, Eliza, eager for a reprieve from her current unsettled predicament, goes home to help her pack.

Digging through her family’s belongings, Eliza uncovers secrets that have been buried for years and that offer her startling revelations about her enigmatic parents, as well as insights into the choices she has made for herself. In putting to rest her past, she also finds new love for her mother and brother, and a passion like none she’s ever known in the arms of a man from the Moon. "

However, this post is supposed to be about a good book.. so here goes... meanwhile I’m typing with one hand because using my other hand actually used my abdomen muscles which hurt right now. eh.

I read two books last year,  both with the same title (only, I think, because it is a very popular title), and both are about something similar, but had two completely different effects on me.

The title is SAVING GRACE.

The first one, (I'LL POST THE ISBN # LATER, CUZ I CANT FIND IT RIGHT NOW), and the better one by far, is about a young girl whose mother whores around, and decides to dump her off at her grandma’s house to live with a box of stuff and a bag of clothes, while she goes off with her newfound boyfriend on the road. He doesn't like kids, and he especially doesn’t like her kids by another man.  The girl has a stuttering and lisp problem.  Everyone at school thinks she’s retarded or has some other mental handicap.  The grandmother apparently hasn’t cleaned her own house in decades, and the young girl starts to teach her about doing housework, and tells her grandmother (eventually) whys he loves to read so much, she just hates to talk. The grandmother pulls the girl out of her shell, and breaks the girls’ depression. When it comes time to enroll in school, the teacher of her new English class says that the girl is below that level and should be pulled back. The girl shows them all and starts telling them what they didn't even know or understand about different books and stories.  Then a girl, with a stuttering problem eventually becomes the smartest one in the family.

The second book, (ISBN # 9780152060961), "When Grace Stanley’s brother is killed in a car accident just before her junior year of high school, her life is split in two: before and after Matt died. Before, she loved to draw, play lacrosse, laugh, and listen to loud music with her best friends. And after, she doesn’t see much point in anything--not school, not her friends or parents, not herself, and certainly not God. Then along comes Philomena, a mysterious girl who is always popping up unexpectedly . . . and who just might be exactly what Grace needs.  Saving Grace is the story of a vulnerable and remarkable girl who is struggling through profound loss, figuring out her faith and her place in the universe--and making plenty of mistakes along the way."  The only words I have to describe this book, is that I cried, and I laughed, and I wanted to smack her at times for being so dumb at certain points in the book.

There is one other book, that I will edit this post later to tell you all about it, is about a young girl who knows that she is adopted, and her "parents" have never hid that fact, but she has never wanted to contact her birth mother, but now this woman wants to see her, and her parents are trying to show, tell, and somewhat forcibly ask her to speak with her. The parents don't necessarily believe in god, but they have their own beliefs, and the young girl has always believed herself to be agnostic.  As it turns out, her birth mom, a close friend of the parents, was raised Jewish, and practices some of the Jewish customs, because "they are traditions, and traditions are me."  The birth mother is dying, and wants her daughter to know about her before she passes.  This agnostic girl goes from not really believing in anything, to believing in a Power above, a sense of familial tradition, and has overcome depression and discovered a new self.

That's all I can type for today... Now I must get ready for the slave labor that I drive 30 miles one-way to work for 3 hours that I look so forward to every day of this undesirable existence.

Day 02 — A movie you want to see.

I want to see "Death at a Funeral" & "Alice in Wonderland".  I have this intense fetish for Johnny Depp, Tim Burton, and Helena Bonham Carter.  For some reason, I just love it when Johnny Depp teams up with Tim Burton.  Thank you to @Sunk for enlightening me that HBC is married to TB.  But they are three of my favorite people.  Hence, my undying desire to watch this movie...

14th-Apr-2010 10:57 am - Day 01 — A newly discovered song
meroomeyes
Hmm... Where to begin... I have been exploring muscial "artists" as of late that I don't think the old me would have listened to.  Granted: some are kind of OKAY, and some are way less than kind of OKAY, while other are merely just Eh...  A song that I heard recently that kind of changed my perception of music would have to be, "A More Perfect Union" by Titus Andronicus.  It's unique, I wouldn't go as far as to say that it's great, but it's good.  At first it kind of was like "WTF is this?", but after listening to it a few times, I was intrigued.  It's definitely a song that I'd recommend to anyone looking to explore a totally different, unique genre of muscial talent this morning.

This is a quote from a report done on the song... Oddly enough I find it long after I discover the song...

"It's not every day that a folksy punk band uses the Civil War as an extended metaphor for a young man's migration from New Jersey to Boston. But on its second album, "The Monitor," New Jersey-based Titus Andronicus has done just that. Over a Dinosaur Jr.-like guitar riff, the band opens the song "A More Perfect Union" with a quote from Abraham Lincoln before quickly transitioning to a reference of the Garden State Parkway. But the album's hero apparently hasn't found greener pastures in Boston. Alongside a twangy country fiddle on "Theme From 'Cheers,' " lead singer Patrick Stickles muses, "I need a timeout/I need an escape from reality." An oddly moving bagpipe melody closes the nearly 15-minute "The Battle of Hampton Roads," on which the protagonist admits defeat and returns home. "The Monitor" probably could've borrowed more firepower from the ironclad battleship for which it's named, but the album nevertheless meshes old-fashioned themes with a modern twist."

On another note, I am always happy to listen to anything by Gym Class Heroes, especially Travis McCoy.  I will love this man's style and music until the very end.

Side Note:: Heard latest single from Travie Mccoy, ft Bruno Mars... It's off-rip... Word to everyone - Go Get It! .99 cents at Amazon.  I never promote the use of pirating software, because it is illegal... and that is immoral... We Must Keep The Money Flowing... LMAO..

12th-Apr-2010 06:37 pm - Writer's Block: Talk to the animals
meroomeyes
What would you do if your pet dog or cat suddenly started to talk to you, but nobody else could hear it? Would you assume you'd gone mad or simply be happy for the company? Would you try to convince your friends and family or would you be satisfied keeping it to yourself?

If Buster [ one of my dogs ], or KiKi [ my cat ], started talking to me, I think I would probably jump back, turn around and then run into the door.  If I was unconcscious on the floor, Buster would sniff me, lay next to me, and sleep... If KiKi was with me, then she would hop on top of me and lick me until I woke up.. Hmm... Decisions... I think at first I would keep it to myself, and enjoy the company... but then after a few weeks or so, I would try to tell my mom.  depending on what she said, I would definitely go back to keeping it to myself.  I really do wish I could talk to Buster or Rasjaih... I love my dogs... I have 5 dogs and 1 cat... [ in order by age ] -- Rasjaih (wife), Buster (husband), Puppers (real name Brutus, i call him Poopy, hes the oldest living son that we have), Fat Boy (real name Menka - stands for Mean Cow - middle child that we have), and then Easter Baby (who we most recently nicknamed EB - the youngest baby we have -- just turned a year.)... We love animals...

20th-Mar-2010 11:38 pm - March of Dimes - March for Babies!
meroomeyes
I joined March of Dimes for my daughter, Maiya Elizabeth Todd. Born December 19, 2006 at 1:53 am, a stillborn @ 21 weeks gestation.

I recently met a woman around my age, whose baby died the same date as Maiya. She told me about March of Dimes, and now I've joined. One day we will find the cure to end the pain.

I'm so brave on the outside,
but so weak on the inside,
i'm fighting for the freedom,
of the love within.

Pain fills me and sadness tears at my soul,
Fear consumes me,
While abstinence rules me,
I don't, I can't, I just won't.

Lost in a sea of reverence,
God has shown me his patience,
i've out-smarted the smart ones,
and out-dumbed, the dumb ones.

There's no cookies left in this jar,
They've all been broken.
There's no more pieces to the puzzle,
Some were thrown away, and others were lost along the way.

I cry more now, than I did before.
I question every move,
I ponder every step,
I hate myself for what I've become.

There's no justice for me,
No hope for me,
No love for me,
No life for me.

I'm alone,
writing this,
to share my feelings,
I'm afraid.

I rock these kicks cuz I got the sneaks/ Aint no one round gonna hit/ Just sit yo ass back n take ya licks/ Cuz aint shit ya can do to fix/
Round n round, screaming out, aint not one knows where I been down/ aint not one knows my name, my age, my race/ take these letters, split the lines, eat my words, n choke your face/
I do what I do, and am what I am, I'm better than you, cuz I say I am/takin words from my boy Em, but if I wasn't, then why would I say I AM
20th-Mar-2010 11:33 pm - Harper's Island!
meroomeyes

Did anyone watch CBS's show Harper's Island when it aired last year?

I loved it!! My best friend pegged out who the killer was from the get-go... He said it was because he just happened to be everywhere, and because they never made it seem like it was him...

I kinda wish they would do another little mini-series show like that again... Chu' Think? Did you like it? why/why not?
